My name is Sergio
I am a graduate of the Los Andes University (Venezuela) majoring with Honours in Accountancy and Business Management in 2000.
During my studies I worked for an organisation called Christian Outreach International in Mérida, Venezuela, firstly as a local guide for American students studying in the Institute then after three months I was given training as a teacher of Spanish for native English speakers. Their ages ranged from school children to retired people and the course was structured to teach Spanish to missionaries in South America.
As well as classroom teaching, my responsibilities included course structuring, lesson preparation, and organising external leisure activities. In addition I was called on to provide interpretation services for the Institute.
After three years of teaching I produced my own booklet for teaching Spanish to beginners called “Manual Práctico de Español, nivel básico e intermedio”. This is a basic level workbook for beginners and covered mainly practical exercises with some grammar. My brother and I co-operated on writing and producing a more advanced level follow on book.
The courses were designed to combine book learning, together with practical experiences such as game cards, didactic games, brainstorming, and flash cards.
Continuous assessment and examinations were also set and marked by me.
I have an outward going personality, and am conscientious, reliable, and focusing on my students.
I have also achieved a distinction pass in Bookkeeping and have been elected an Associate of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, I am therefore able to teach Business Spanish.
So!
If you want to learn, or improve your Spanish, I offer one to one tuition or groups of up to three students
